Native Bush Poem.

                                               Native Poem:

The trees were swaying in the breeze like a graceful cloud moving through the open sky,
Birds perched high in the trees singing lovely songs,
The leaves came floating down as they hit the ground we crushed them,
The astonishing flowers smelt better than fresh strawberry's,
The jagged stones pierced my feet as I walked along the path.

Zoo!!

 Whats that? It was really cool  when Kate brought a tuatara  in to feel it. It felt really weird. My highlights of my day were seeing  Lucy the chimpanzee eating its own 💩. I also loved going behind the scenes to feed lots of animals. I loved feeding the Siamangs  (Eeyore & cookie monster.)
It was really exciting feeding the giraffes carrots🥕.

Tough Kid Challange

            Tough Kid Challenge.

"On your marks get set go."The 9 year old girls sprint to the tyres most of us jumped over the tyres. Then I start doing limbo under the elastic ropes.Suddenly haybales come into view we had to climb and jump on,over,down on the haybales. We had to run across the beam the crawl under the net.We had to sprint beside the cones then slip and slide on the waterside. Dived into the mud pit. Zigzag through the yellow poles. Yes I came 7th. I really enjoyed today.

Friday The 3rd of June.
I was working with Ashilgh Zoe Reese and I. We were working together to plant some mint. First we had to weed all of the weeds out and then plant the mint people had brought. We had great fun dehydrating herbs we deiced to dehydrate herbs the food tech  children can use them for the deelishis food. we had a nice time making posters.

Wellington

                                                             Wellington!!

What's the time? 5:00 am. It was a cold winter dark morning, the wind was blowing horrendously. I was shivering by the fire I was getting dressed into my warm clothes. 6:00 am we got into the car. We drove from Te tahi road to Huntly  MC Donald's. I order pancakes. I could smell the maple syrup and hot cakes. At 7:00 am I said still another hour until Auckland air port. 8:00 am we arrived at the air port. 

We still had to hours until we were able to board the plane. At 9:42 am we had to make our way to the gates to get our bags checked to make sure we were not carrying anything bad. At 9:50 am we boarded the plane through a long tunnel. Once we were on we had to put these weird seat belts on. When the plane was going 400 km per hour it was no scary, but I thought it was going to be scary. Then it suddenly lifted into the air I got butterfly's in my tummy.  After 10 mins we were aloud to put our tables down, for a snack on the plane i had a packet of plan chips,  2x Eskimo, lea snack, and packet of raisins, Doritos. 10:45 am we got these special lollies to help our ears not pop! Around 11:00 am we got into wellington air port. Our bags were one of the last bags on the baggage converter. Then we court a shuttle to Victoria court hotel. We dropped our bags off and went to Te papa museum. We went to look at the Gallipoli campaign exhibition that was in the first world war.

There was this awesome place where you had to find these hidden pests.

Day 2

I was relaxing in the spa bath with all these bubbles in my face.

Then I got changed into some warm woolly clothes. We walked to the bus stop to caught  a bus to the botanical gardens. We walked through a big greenhouse. WOW!!! There were so many amazing coulerful flowers. After looking through the amazing greenhouse we went on a long walk around the botanical gardens.

We walked through the herb garden and we found ourselves at a playground I went on a big down hill flying fox and the octopus and swings.

3D Math. Week 1 Term 2.

 3D Math.😊

 This week we got isometric paper and drew 3d shapes.We then created our own shapes with connected blocks. This is my shape.

We had to create a shape that wasn't just a square.

It was a lot of fun and a bit challenging.I found it hard to draw the 3d shape.

How animals are dying.

 How animals are dying.

Sea animals are dying because of pollution.Animals are dying because we are killing them to make things, eg; clothes, rugs,boots. We killed them for food and cut down all the native that they needed to survive on which killed them. We tested products on animals to make sure if they were bad for us  they still had lives.The animals relied on what was around them to survive on we completely  destroyed some of it. 

#Tapa turtles reflection.

Tapa turtles:

With Mrs Gibson White this term we were learning about… Tapa and how to carve and make Tapa out of paper. We made our Tapa out of special a3 pieces of paper. Then we dyed them browny red.We then had to carve our designs onto a wood block . Then we had  to roll on printing ink onto our wood block. After that we had to print them onto a piece of greasy feeling paper then we stuck  them onto the tapa cloth.

I learned… Rotations, translations, symmetry, Tapa designs, Tapa turtles, research, how to make tapa, patterns. I also learnt that Tapa is some sort of cloth that is used in Fiji and Samoa.

I enjoyed it because… It took a long time and we got to involve lots of math,research etc. It was a cool and a exciting experience and fun to go through the process.

Math rotations… In math rotations we did these cool math rotations. We learnt a lot about geometry in the tapa process.

Integrity

 Integrity Person :

My integrity person is Bonny....

She is always sitting up. She is always handing her work in on time. She is a good roll model. I am always looking up to her and she is also always looking  up to do jobs. She is a good friend.

Gymnastics

Gymnastics Competition:

       A young teenage girl walked onto the stage, her auburn hair swaying gently as she walked. “Hello everyone are you gymnast out there ready to warm up.” “ Yes!” Everyone screamed!! We all started scrambling down the stairs. “ Ok let's start with splits.” All I could hear was the painful screams and ouches!!

Pit a pit pita pat as everyone scrambled up the steps. Time for the competition.  My heart is pounding. What's going to happen?...

I jumped into a glide swing on the bars. Alright last bit of my routine hope it goes well. I did it perfectly. My head went black when I was doing my last trick.I thought that was actually easy I smiled.I had 5 more things to do beam,vault,floor,double miniand finally tramp. I could feel my hands trembling with fear. “ Can everyone please come down to the stage for prizegiving.” “Let's give out all the participation awards Ella Devaliant Olivia Van Boven...
