School Fair
At the school fair my class was selling sweet treats, there was popcorn, toffee apples, and all sort of things you could imagine well practically.I enjoyed room 4's basketball game it was really fun. I also liked eating heaps of sweet treats. The sweet treats were so delicious I could stay there all the time. I also enjoyed helping out behind the sweet treats stall. I liked the pet stall.

Marae Noho
At the Marae I learnt how to weave a flax flower which is called a putiputi. What I found interesting was getting to sleep at night because people were being noisy. I enjoyed making new friends and playing hide and seek.

Term 4 Inquiry - Technology

My animal is the Little Spotted Kiwi.
What does my animal need in its enclosure?
Rocks, dead little trees,
a little pond, a stream, dirt, leaves, sticks, woodchip and flax.
What features did I add
just for my animal and how are they helpful?
Little dead branches so
the kiwi could have a piece of medium soft stuff. The stick and leaves made
some nice shade for the kiwi.
Did I make any changes and
why did I decide to do that?
I put the dirt all around
the enclosure so the kiwi could have nice soft places to sit.

Orangutans Report
Orangutans
are one of our closest relatives. Their Latin name is pongo.
HABITAT
Orang-utans
live in south Sumatra and Borneo. They live in the tops of trees and nests.
DESCRIPTION
Orangutans
make a noise like a cicada or else an “ooh ah, ooh ah.” They have thin orangey-brown
fur. The males form flanged cheek pads when they are 10-15 years old. Their
arms are twice as big as their legs.
DIET
Orangutans
eat a variety of food plus it is an omnivore. They eat fruit, bark, honey, insects
and birds eggs. They may eat leaves as well as fruit.
DYNAMICS
Orangutans
are very clever and use rocks and sticks as tools. Their predators are tigers
and clouded leopards. An orangutan makes it’s bed every day and makes sure it
is tidy.
Orangutans
need our help! Their habitat is being destroyed and they are dying out quickly.
By giving money to foundations and planting more trees in their habitat we can
help save them.
